Facility Leader: Monica Wetzel, Warden
Monica Wetzel was named warden at Northwest New Mexico Correctional Center (formerly New Mexico Women's Correctional Facility) in 2015. Wetzel has 29 years of corrections experience with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where she began her career at the Leavenworth Penitentiary in 1975 and transferred to several BOP facilities, serving as a paralegal, equal employment opportunity investigator, unit manager, associate warden, executive assistant to the regional director, public information officer, warden, and senior warden.
